Millard North has gone a perfect 10-0 against Millard South recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Millard North Mustangs and the Millard South Patriots will meet in a classic North v. South matchup at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Millard North is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Benson: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Millard North blew Benson out of the water with an 81-36 final score. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Derek Rollins was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 26 points and ten rebounds. He is becoming a predictor of Millard North's success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is 14-2 (and 3-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Deacon Courtney, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Millard South, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They blew past Lincoln High 80-53 on Saturday. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Links are ranked 103rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Millard South's win came from a few key players Millard North will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Koby Meyers, who posted 11 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Margheim, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Millard South smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive games.
Millard South has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.3 points over those games. Millard North's win bumped their record up to 17-6.
Monday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Millard North has been dynamite from deep this season, having drained 40% of their three-pointers per game. However, it's not like Millard South struggles in that department as they've drained 35.2% of their three-pointers this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
