Softball Game Preview: Bacon Academy Bobcats vs. Waterford Lancers

Bacon Academy is 1-9 against Waterford since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bobcats will challenge the Lancers at 4:15 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bacon Academy 3, Waterford 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Bacon Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Woodstock Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bobcats fell just short of the Centaurs by a score of 6-4 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Waterford had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Saints. The Lancers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Bacon Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Waterford, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Bacon Academy suffered a grim 24-1 defeat to Waterford in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
