Softball Recap: Branham Comes Up Short

Branham fell victim to Gilroy and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 1-0. The loss continues a trend for the Bruins in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.

Taylor Bugliarello spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.

Branham's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Gilroy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Branham will challenge rival Leigh at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Gilroy is set to face off against their familiar foe Leland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
