Volleyball Recap: Dalton's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Dalton waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the North Murray Mountaineers by a score of 2-0. The Catamounts have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mountaineers, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Dalton took both sets by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-14.

Karyme Smithey paced Dalton's offense, picking up eight kills. Smithey got some help from Anjalee Lemons and her 19 assists. Kayleisha Page controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Dalton's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for North Murray, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Dalton has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Columbus on the 16th. As for North Murray, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Southeast Whitfield County on the 16th.
