Preview: Southview Christian Conquerors vs. Calvary Christian Cougar
Southview Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last six games, but now they'll head out on the road. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the Calvary Christian Cougar at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, Southview Christian didn't have too much trouble with Shining Light Baptist Academy at home as they won 42-25. Given Southview Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Shining Light Baptist Academy is ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Calvary Christian had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.2 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They walked away with a 35-27 win over Cramerton Christian Academy.
Southview Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Calvary Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Southview Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Calvary Christian in their previous meeting back in February, winning 33-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southview Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
