Football Game Preview: Morenci Wildcats vs. Tuba City Warriors + Official Tickets

Morenci is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Tuba City is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Wildcats will host the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Morenci's defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so Tuba City's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Morenci will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 12 points two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Arete Prep on Friday. The Wildcats walked away with a 34-21 victory over the CHARGERS. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wildcats' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Julien Aragon was his usual excellent self, rushing for 269 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Morenci is undefeated when Aragon posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. The Wildcats also got a significant boost from Jeremya Cruz, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 88 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Morenci was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 448 rushing yards. They are 5-2 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Morenci didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Aundre Mccauley and Kiano Torres.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Tuba City sidestepped Holbrook for a 20-18 win.

Morenci's record is now 6-4. As for Tuba City, their record now sits at 7-3.
