Lakewood has gone a perfect 4-0 against Mayfair recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Lancers are taking a road trip to square off against the Monsoons at 11:00 a.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Lakewood's victory against Jordan wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lancers had just enough and edged out the Panthers 9-8 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lancers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Gavin Koontz was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Rueda, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Mayfair came out on top against Paramount on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Monsoons' pitchers stepped up to hand the Pirates a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Monsoons have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mayfair's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Josiah Gamez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Mayfair's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lakewood, their win bumped their record up to 11-13.

Lakewood came out on top in a nail-biter against Mayfair when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
