Basketball Recap: Deuel Comes Up Short

Deuel has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a blow against the Groton Tigers on Thursday, falling 75-43. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Deuel's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Groton, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deuel will venture away from home to face off against Sioux Valley at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Groton, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Vermillion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vermillion knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Groton likes a good challenge.
