Soccer Recap: Ursuline Academy's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Saturday

Ursuline Academy barely beat Ritenour the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears' defense stepped up to hand the Huskies an 8-0 shutout on Saturday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Ursuline Academy's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Ritenour are ranked 189th).

The victory made it two in a row for Ursuline Academy and bumps their season record up to 12-6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Ritenour, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Ursuline Academy will head out to face off against Kirkwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kirkwood's last five matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Ritenour does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
