Softball Recap: Coppell Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

While Coppell put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Braswell. The Cowboys were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Bengals. The result was nothing new for the Cowboys, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Coppell got a great performance from Lily Bowen as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Courtney Hargrove was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kimber Kerrigan, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

The victory was the third in a row for Coppell, bringing their record up to 16-11-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Braswell, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.

Coppell and Braswell could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Cowboys will challenge Flower Mound at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (161 vs. 48). Meanwhile, Braswell (ranked 765th) will meet Hebron (ranked 25th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
