Softball Recap: Sparta Trojans vs. Spokane Owls
Sparta waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Spokane Owls. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.
Addie Humble made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. Humble was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Layne Forgey, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Hayden Holt also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
