Basketball Recap: Belleville West Comes Up Short

Belleville West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 57-40 fall against the Edwardsville Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Maroons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Tigers are ranked tenth).

Belleville West's loss dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Edwardsville, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 27-2.

Belleville West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edwardsville, they will take on Granite City at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
