Baseball Game Preview: Norwich Free Academy Wildcats vs. Lyman Memorial Bulldogs

The Norwich Free Academy Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Lyman Memorial Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Norwich Free Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Lyman Memorial's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Norwich Free Academy got the win against St. Bernard by a conclusive 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Lyman Memorial came out on top against Plainfield on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Bulldogs walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Panthers. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The win made it two in a row for Lyman Memorial and bumps their season record up to 2-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Norwich Free Academy, their record now sits at 7-2.

Norwich Free Academy suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Lyman Memorial in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
