Elijah Deveaux of Charlotte Christian ran for the longest rushing play in NCISAA Charlotte Independent Schools this season against Charlotte Latin last week. Deveaux's team bested the Hawks as he sprinted for 70 yards on the play and finished with 79 in all.
Charlotte Christian moved up to 46 from 77 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Jason Estep's team climbed the ranks as a result of a 56-7 win over Charlotte Latin.
Eric Lynch put up the best numbers through the air as the Knights beat Larry Mcnulty's team. He finished with 11 completions for 149 yards and three touchdowns. Lynch's favorite target this week was Bo Hines, who caught four passes for 48 yards.
Michael Radford was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 96 yards as Charlotte Country Day bested Woodberry Forest. Jimmy Kleitches also contributed to the rushing game with 82 yards on the ground.
Sheppard Wilson made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Buccaneers defeated the Tigers. The sophomore recorded one fumble.
Smith was the best wideout in NCISAA Charlotte Independent Schools this week as Charlotte Country Day bested Woodberry Forest. Smith racked up one reception for 63 yards. Tripp Mulligan helped Charlotte Country Day's passing attack out by catching one ball for 18 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Radford and Kleitches Bob Witman's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Radford leads the league in passing with 1120 yards, while Kleitches has rushed for 502 yards this season. Charlotte Christian's Hines leads the league in receiving yards with 333 on 22 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Hawks take on Providence Day. At the moment, Charlotte Latin is in third, while the Chargers are in second.
The Buccaneers were able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Clint Alexander's team 23-3. Charlotte Country Day came in at 16 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
