Football Recap: Northern Durham Takes a Loss

After flying high against Triangle Math & Science two weeks ago, Northern Durham came back down to earth. The Knights took a blow against the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans on Friday, falling 66-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability was led to victory by Kamari Holloway and Jonathan Dillon. Holloway rushed for 158 yards and three TDs on only nine carries, while Dillon gained 278 total yards and a touchdown. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Holloway a new career-high. Christian Arellano was another key player, rushing for 32 yards and one touchdown.

Northern Durham's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Southern School of Energy and Sustainability, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Northern Durham wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-6 win against East Chapel Hill on the 10th. As for Southern School of Energy and Sustainability, they have also already played their next contest, a 42-14 victory against Riverside-Durham on the 10th.
