Football Game Preview: Strong Rock Christian Patriots vs. First Presbyterian Day Vikings

Strong Rock Christian hasn't had much luck against First Presbyterian Day recently, but that could start to change on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m.

Strong Rock Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 31 points back in October, they were much more limited against Brookstone last Friday. They fell 23-13 to the Cougars.

Meanwhile, First Presbyterian Day made easy work of Tattnall Square Academy last Friday and carried off a 31-6 victory. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won four in a row.

First Presbyterian Day's win came from a few key players Strong Rock Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Breck Griffin, who picked up 119 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in receiving touchdowns (two). Marlon Kramer made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

One reason for the win was First Presbyterian Day's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Tattnall Square Academy's QB won't forget Tinsley Lewis anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Kramer got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

First Presbyterian Day's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Strong Rock Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Strong Rock Christian ended up a good deal behind First Presbyterian Day in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, losing 28-13. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
