Volleyball Recap: Branson's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Branson had won two straight games and Erinn Swofford did her part to make it three on Thursday. The Pirates came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Mt. Vernon Mountaineers for which the team can thank Swofford, who hit 85.7% for six kills and seven digs and two aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 64 games she's played dating back to last season.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (105-98) Branson actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-19, 15-25, 26-24, 15-12.

Branson's victory bumped their record up to 20-11-6. As for Mt. Vernon, their loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 21-7-2.

As of now, neither Branson nor the Mountaineers have any future games scheduled.
