Volleyball Game Preview: Vanden Vikings vs. Pioneer Patriots

The Vanden Vikings will square off against the Pioneer Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Vanden's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Pioneer has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

While Vanden's win against Vacaville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings skirted past the Bulldogs 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since March 29th.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Vanden got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 23-25, 25-23, 19-25, 15-9.

Meanwhile, Pioneer lost 3-0 to Vacaville on Wednesday.

While Pioneer was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18, 25-15.

Vanden's win bumped their record up to 20-11. As for Pioneer, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Everything went Vanden's way against Pioneer in their previous matchup back in March, as Vanden made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
