Baseball Game Preview: Union Local Jets vs. Weir Red Riders

The Union Local Jets will square off against the Weir Red Riders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Union Local is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering John Marshall just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Monarchs by a score of 3-1.

Meanwhile, Weir got the win against Buckeye Local on Friday by a conclusive 12-6. Considering the Red Riders have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Evan Kaczmarek was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Weir is 3-1 when Kaczmarek posts two or more runs, but 7-13 otherwise. Jonathan Horstman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Weir always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Weir has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-14 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Union Local, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
