Basketball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 77-30 loss at the hands of the Fremd Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the Vikings are ranked 12th).

Audrey Lafleur was Central's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Julia Scheuer held things down on the boards with four rebounds. Ashley Waslo took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with four assists.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Fremd, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Central is on the road again on Thursday to play Naperville North at 10:30 a.m. Fremd and York will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fremd will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
