Softball Recap: Amador Valley Drops Season-High Score on Dublin

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Amador Valley). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Dublin Gaels an 18-0 shutout on Thursday. With that win, the Dons brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Lauren Tran made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tran was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in June of 2024.

In other pitching news, Kaylee Davis looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Amador Valley got a massive performance out of Ava Davis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those four hits gave Davis a new career-high. Abbie Hiller was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Amador Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in nine consecutive contests.

Amador Valley's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Dublin, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-15.

Coming up, Amador Valley will challenge San Ramon Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Dons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Dublin, they will head out on the road to take on Santa Clara at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
