Softball Recap: Bloomington North Takes a Loss

Bloomington North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the New Albany Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 6-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Bloomington North saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elizabeth Bruce, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Savannah Hammond, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Bloomington North's record is now 2-11. As for New Albany, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloomington North will head out to square off against Southport at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for New Albany, they will venture away from home to face off against Corydon Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
