Morgan Township has gone a perfect 10-0 against Westville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cherokees will venture away from home to challenge the Blackhawks at 4:30 p.m. Neither Morgan Township nor Westville posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Wheeler hit Morgan Township with a four-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cherokees took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bearcats.

Carter Thibodeau was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Morgan Township saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jett Gheaja, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Clint Lemmons was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Westville lost 8-1 to Washington Township on Wednesday. The Blackhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Westville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Morgan Township, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Morgan Township has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Westville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Morgan Township's way against Westville in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Morgan Township made off with a 10-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cherokees since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
