Baseball Recap: Mount St. Mary Comes Up Short

Mount St. Mary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Christian Heritage Crusaders. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rockets have suffered since May 10, 2024.

Jackson Miller was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Miles Stanley was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Mount St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Christian Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount St. Mary will head out to face off against Booker T. Washington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Christian Heritage, they will venture away from home to square off against Hinton at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
