Soccer Recap: Minooka Victorious

Minooka proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by eight) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the South Elgin Storm 2-1. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Minooka's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 25th, while South Elgin are ranked 108th).

Minooka is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 5-1-1 record this season. As for South Elgin, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Minooka will take on Wheaton Academy in a tournament on Monday. As for South Elgin, they will be taking part in a tournament against Wauconda at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
