Basketball Recap: Allen Academy Comes Up Short

Allen Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Valor Preparatory Academy Knights, falling 71-26. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-10.

Valor Preparatory Academy was led to victory by Bennett Herman and Connor McFarling. Herman went 8 of 17 en route to 16 points along with five boards and five steals, while McFarling went 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points. That's the most steals Herman has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Kelber, who posted eight points and three steals.

Allen Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Allen Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Legacy Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Legacy Christian Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Allen Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Iredell at 7:30 p.m. on December 30th.
