Basketball Recap: Wheeler Comes Up Short

Wheeler was the 87-41 winner over Berwick Academy when they last played one another back in January of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. The Wheeler Warriors fell 63-54 to the Berwick Academy Bulldogs on Friday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Berwick Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Daniel, who went 13 of 22 en route to 33 points and eight rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Daniel has scored at least a third of Berwick Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Purington, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Wheeler's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Berwick Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheeler will take on Barrington at 1:00 p.m. on January 25th. Berwick Academy has already played their next match (against Beaver Country Day), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
