Basketball Recap: Dover's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dover). They were the clear victor by a 71-49 margin over the Rondout Valley Ganders on Thursday. The team accrued 66 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.

Dover's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaheim Dixon, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Caden Green, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.

Dover's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2. As for Rondout Valley, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dover will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Highland at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Rondout Valley also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Onteora at 5:45 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
