Baseball Recap: Trinity Extends Winning Streak to Four

Trinity extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping their season record up to 10-3 in the process. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Middletown Blue Raiders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-4 on April 3rd.

Ben Snyder tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Quinn Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Trent Zoellner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

As for Middletown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

On Middletown's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Cochran, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. The Blue Raiders are 4-1 when Cochran posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Another was J.P. Horetsky, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Trinity and Middletown should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Shamrocks will face off against Susquehanna Township at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (120 vs. 315). Meanwhile, Middletown (ranked 243rd) will meet Harrisburg (ranked 506th) at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
