Soccer Game Preview: Field vs. Springfield

The Field Falcons will face off against the Springfield Spartans on Saturday. Field will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each matchup than the last.

Field's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over Coventry. The result was nothing new for Field, who have now won eight matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Coventry from everywhere, as nine different players booted in a goal. Mitch Adams led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Springfield waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Panthers. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Springfield were the better team in the second half.

Springfield's win bumped their record up to 9-4-1. As for Field, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.

Field took their win against Springfield when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 7-3 score. In that contest, the Falcons amassed a halftime lead of 6-2, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
