Preview: Chester Clippers vs. Phoenixville Phantoms
The Chester Clippers will be playing at home against the Phoenixville Phantoms at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Chester will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
Chester can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 44-0 victory over Upper Moreland. Given Chester's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Upper Moreland is ranked 293rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chester found their leader in underclassman Jalen Harris, who threw for 170 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes. Dominic Toy was another key contributor, picking up 89 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Phoenixville earned a 21-14 victory over East on Friday.
Phoenixville's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Deacon Williams, who rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown, and Ty Romance, who rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.
Chester has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.4 points per game. As for Phoenixville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Chester beat Phoenixville 34-23 in their previous meeting back in September. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Phoenixville's Romance, who threw for 126 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
