Basketball Recap: Geronimo Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cement last Monday, Geronimo came back down to earth. The Geronimo Blue Jays had to suffer through a 73-28 loss at the hands of the Walters Blue Devils. The matchup marked the Blue Jays' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Geronimo's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. As for Walters, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

After both having extra time off, Geronimo and Mountain View-Gotebo will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Walters, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Elmore City-Pernell at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Walters knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Elmore City-Pernell likes a good challenge.
