Garrick Spake, Highland Tech's leading rebounder, solidified his role on Friday. Spake posted five points in addition to six rebounds and five assists, good enough to set a new career-high in assists in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Coming up, Spake and Highland Tech will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy at 6:30 p.m. The Rams had to take a loss when they last met the Gryphons, but Spake had little to do with the loss: he put up six points and seven boards.
