Basketball Recap: Saranac Lake Victorious

Saranac Lake lost to Franklin Academy back in February, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Saranac Lake Red Storm sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-46 victory over the Franklin Academy Huskies. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Storm have posted since February 8th.

Franklin Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brad Poupore, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 13 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Hanna, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 11 points and six rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Saranac Lake and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Franklin Academy, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1.

Saranac Lake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 79-60 win against Saranac on the 12th. As for Franklin Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-46 defeat against Potsdam on the 10th.
