Basketball Recap: Miller Gets the Win

Miller won the last time they faced Carroll and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Miller Buccaneers slipped by the Carroll Tigers 61-60.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miller to victory, but perhaps none more so than Corey Holmes, who posted 13 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dexter Brantley, who put up 14 points.

Miller has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Carroll, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12.

Miller and Carroll could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Miller (ranked 890th) will meet Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial (ranked 15th) at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Carroll (ranked 650th) will meet Ray (ranked 290th) at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
