Baseball Game Preview: Fort Zumwalt North Panthers vs. Winfield Warriors

The Fort Zumwalt North Panthers will face off against the Winfield Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fort Zumwalt North had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Ladue Horton Watkins on Saturday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 8-1 victory.

Meanwhile, Winfield narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Holt 3-2.

Warren Conrad spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Colin Morse, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Winfield's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Fort Zumwalt North, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Fort Zumwalt North took their victory against Winfield when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 17-9 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
