Softball Recap: Warren East Comes Up Short

Warren East extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 19-9 in the process. They lost 11-0 to the Daviess County Panthers. Considering the last time the Raiders couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for Daviess County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.

For Daviess County's part, Annie Newman was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and three runs. That's the most hits Newman has posted since back in May of 2024. Molly Hancock was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Coming up, Warren East is taking a road trip to take on Logan County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Daviess County, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Heritage Hills on the 10th.
