Baseball Game Preview: Hobbs Eagles vs. Farmington Scorpions

The Hobbs Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Farmington Scorpions at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Hobbs' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.

Hobbs is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with an 11-7 win over Cleveland on Friday. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Luke Parrish tossed a big game, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Karsyn Phillips was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Juan Camacho, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Farmington came up short against Carlsbad on Friday, falling 19-5. The game marked the Scorpions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Hobbs' win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Farmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Hobbs took their victory against Farmington when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 17-9. Does Hobbs have another victory up their sleeve, or will Farmington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
