Baseball Recap: International Falls Victorious

International Falls took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Broncos narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bulldogs 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Broncos have posted since May 6, 2024.

Keaton Maish spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, International Falls saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Joslyn, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI. What's more, Joslyn posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

International Falls now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, International Falls will face off against Kenyon-Wanamingo at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton, they will challenge New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
