Preview: Milby Buffs vs. Waltrip Rams
The Milby Buffs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Waltrip Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Milby has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Waltrip will arrive with three straight wins.
Milby pushed their score all the way to 70 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Austin by a score of 72-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (64), Milby still had to take the loss.
Jacob Carrizalez put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 26 points and 17 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Kobe Brown was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Waltrip posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Austin 79-77. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Milby has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Waltrip, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
