Petoskey put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Cadillac Vikings. The Northmen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Avery Leist made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with five RBI and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since April 4th.

In other batting news, Petoskey got a massive performance out of Alexis Cadarette, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and two stolen bases. Cadarette continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Addisynn Segraves was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Petoskey was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in six consecutive games.

Petoskey's victory was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Cadillac, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Petoskey will square off against Shepherd at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cadillac, they will challenge Alma at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.6 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
