Mohave Accelerated waltzed into their game on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Parker Broncs with a sharp 16-0 victory. Give the Patriots' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Megan Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Mohave Accelerated got a massive performance out of Sara King, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave King a new career-high in doubles (two). Lucy Wickham was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Mohave Accelerated was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .630. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in 16 consecutive contests.

Mohave Accelerated pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Parker, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mohave Accelerated will challenge Trivium Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Crimson Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 21 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Parker, they will take on ALA - West Foothills at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Broncs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Guardians have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
