Football Recap: Cheatham County Central Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After soaring to 42 points the game before, Cheatham County Central was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They had to suffer through a 43-12 loss at the hands of the Fairview Yellowjackets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cubs of the 43-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Cheatham County Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Walker Hobbs, who rushed for 144 yards and one score, and Luke Austin, who rushed for 97 yards and one touchdown. Hobbs showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 62 yards.

Cheatham County Central now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Fairview, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Hobbs and Hicks Hunter. Meanwhile, Fairview is set to challenge their familiar foe Waverly Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
