Baseball Recap: Winthrop Gets the Win

Winthrop proved they can win big on Friday (they won by eight) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ipswich Tigers, sneaking past 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since May 18, 2025.

Winthrop has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season. As for Ipswich, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winthrop will challenge Peabody Veterans Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ipswich, they will face off against Lynnfield at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
