Baseball Recap: Sand Creek Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Sand Creek extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 13-10 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs. 15 seems to be a good number for the Scorpions as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Logan Rockhold was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Sand Creek is undefeated when Rockhold posts three or more hits, but 9-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Avyn Walter was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braden Hunnanm, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Sand Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.

As for Pueblo Centennial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 17 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season. Their defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

On Pueblo Centennial's side, Julian Rincon was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Rincon has hit this season. Landen Lenn was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

As of now, neither Sand Creek nor Pueblo Centennial have any future games scheduled.
