Softball Game Preview: Lafayette County Cougars vs. Hermitage Hermits

Lafayette County is 1-6 against Hermitage since April of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Cougars will challenge the Hermits at 5:00 p.m. Lafayette County has given up an average of 14.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lafayette County fell victim to Bradley and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bears, falling 22-0.

Meanwhile, Hermitage also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 16-0 to Taylor on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Hermits' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lafayette County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Hermitage, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Lafayette County might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Hermitage in their previous meeting on April 14th. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
