Baseball Game Preview: Wilbraham & Monson Academy Titans vs. Pomfret School Griffins

The Wilbraham & Monson Academy Titans will venture away from home to face off against the Pomfret School Griffins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wilbraham & Monson Academy's hitters haven't had much luck over their past 12 games, but Saturday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.

Carson Ames made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Pomfret School got a great performance from Ryan Flynn as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Flynn has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Mason Gordon was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sam Power, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Pomfret School now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Wilbraham & Monson Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
