Basketball Game Preview: Boone Central Cardinals vs. Crofton Warriors

Boone Central is a perfect 6-0 against Crofton since February of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Boone Central Cardinals will host the Crofton Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Boone Central came up short against Northwest and fell 64-52. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Crofton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against Wausa, falling 78-54. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Vikings are ranked 81st).

Boone Central will have to keep a close watch on Trevor Allen and Tyson Jackson, a pair of players who had a big impact on Crofton's prior game. Allen posted 26 points, while Jackson earned 15 points. That was a full 48.1% of Crofton's points, marking the fourth time in a row Allen has put up more than a third of the team's points.

Boone Central's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Crofton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.

Everything came up roses for Boone Central against Crofton when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 70-36 victory. In that matchup, Boone Central amassed a halftime lead of 36-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
