Basketball Recap: Argos Comes Up Short

Argos lost against Caston back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Argos Dragons fell 54-44 to the Caston Comets. The Dragons just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Despite the loss, Argos still got an impressive performance from Luke Stults, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and 15 rebounds. With that strong performance, Stults is now averaging an impressive 8.3 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Mack Calhoun, who posted five points and six rebounds.

Caston found their leader in freshman Logan Mollenkopf, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 21 points and seven boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mollenkopf has scored at least a third of Caston's points. Reed Sommers was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Argos' defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Caston, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.

Argos wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 41-27 victory against Culver Community on the 13th. As for Caston, they have also already played their next game, a 57-54 win against North Judson-San Pierre on the 14th.
