It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Shenango ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past the Neshannock Lancers 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since March 14th.

Tyler Houk spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits.

At the plate, Shenango's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Joey Campoli, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was Campoli's first of the season.

Shenango's record is now 9-3. As for Neshannock, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Looking ahead, Shenango will head out on the road to face off against Mohawk Area at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Neshannock, they will welcome Northgate at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
